I have a Pavise shield with 40 Obstruction and 38 Protection - and that gives me 11.9% damage reduction - but is that from Obstruction or Protection or both - and is there a formula or tool that models this for different values?

Is the Obstruction and Protection numbers actually used for shields - so do they make any difference to combat?

Yes, that's what I've been missing. I can't explore or do any activities in Tarasquan as I couldn't reach 58 overall - but with a Varanus upskilled to Sw 37 that works!

Help. What am I missing? Having got the best companion for swamp I can find (a Hipporiel Sw 31 to 46), how do I get the companion to level up in Swamp? Well I live in the UK and both campaigns were rubbish. Anyone with a grudge or a problem or didn't like the government voted for change. The people have voted without any understanding of the consequences.
