Bestarium question

What's the value of getting an animal from the Selection tab?
For example, the princely goat requires 1k goats and 40 royal goat skins.
Can they be used for fashioning?

For now it looks more like alternative (to taming) way of getting some mid-level land skill support animals ... probably more designed for alts then for mains.
But its probably better to ask devs what goals they were pursuing designing this - in current state i rarely see someone use "selection" animals. There are better options and companions from "breeding" simply got nothing special to make it worth useing.

I have a character who (for my own amusement) I do not allow to recruit (or tame) fighting companions in the normal way. Quest companions, legendaries, and bestiarium comps are OK, but not comps from inns or shelters, or tamed in the wild. I can't think of any other reason (other than completism) to get the bestiarium comps; they're not noticeably better than comps which are much easier to obtain.
