Making gold

With the change to gold tasks people are left wondering how they can make money to buy the things they want, so I have decided to write this post to help.

Many of the suggestions will require selling items on the market. I know this is not the same as the instant income from gold tasks, but if the item is in demand and priced correctly, it will sell. Most items will sell for as much as you were making from gold tasks (for the same time investment) and many will make you a lot more. Also the more we use the market to sell items, the more people will rely on it to buy the things they need instead of trying to make it all themselves.

The first suggestion and likely the best option for a new player to work towards is:

Firewood

Every guild needs 20,000 firewood for each Rhumblar festival and some people even use it for fuel, creating a very high demand for this item. Setting up a concession to gather firewood requires a very small investment and will generate a similar amount of gold to tasks, but allow your hero to do other things like level your chosen profession.

A concession can be bought in the military district in the City of Hawkoria, buying one in Riverwood or Shortpoint forest will allow you to gather Fir, which gives the best yield of firewood. Travel to the region in which you bought the concession, make a camp and click the manage button, this will allow you to make the camp into your home.

Next you will want to develop the land 5 times to create free space for building, then head to City of Hawkoria. You will need to buy 20 fir frames, 1 cloth roof and one cloth wall from the construction yard. Buy the plans for a lumberjack camp from the knowledge district and a cutting winch from the merchant district.

Travel your concession to build your lumberjack camp and tent. Open the manage screen again and deposit all your companions. Hover over the wood trade in your character screen to find out where to go to learn it. Once you have learned wood, hovering over woodcutting will tell you where to learn the profession. Once you have woodcutting recruit 3 or more foresters and head back to your concession.

At your concession click the lumber camp tab, then clicking on your foresters at the top of the screen will allow them to gather Fir. Each cycle they will generate Fir logs and firewood. The Fir can be sold to the npc at turnbull mill to cover wages and market fees or used to level woodworking/carpentry. Sell the firewood at the public market, search for firewood then click the price tab a few times until it shows unitary price. Now list your firewood for the same price or a few copper less.

Now you have passive income and can focus on doing all the fun things Therian saga has to offer.

Next I will list suggested items to make for each profession while you level up, that are also in demand, so they can be sold on the market.

Metal

Foundry work - tin chisels, Ingots (tin, copper, bronze, steel, blueroc, odimel, eliandel, domane), nuggets (iron, eliandel), plates (tin, copper, bronze, odimel), glass (cassadir, marapidos, diodur), tools (steel/silver).

Forging - tin blades, tools (steel/silver)

Prospecting - nuggets (odimel/iron)

Stone

Stone cutting - blocks (marl, slate, marapis, borm, oceanite), sculptures (limestone, marble)

Masonry - towers (marl, marapis) walls (marl, marapis), Fortifications (marl, marapis), wells (slate), vaults (marapis)

Extracting - fuel (lignite, anthracite)

Wood

Woodcutting - log & planks (cedar, maple, oak, yew, acacia, chanderian, neurt, solone, melandrin)

Woodworking - shingles, tenons (elm), counters (cedar, neurt)

Carpentry - pile foundations (cedar, maple), frames (cedar, maple, solone), roofs (cedar, maple), walls (cedar, maple)

Fauna

Hunting - meat (hare, cervid, boar, bear, catoblepas), mohair (from mountain goats), skins (stag, behiran)

Flora

Herbalism - healing vials, rejuvenation vials, land skill vials (mountain, cave, forest), all profession vials (very high demand for leadership and forging).

Fashioning

Jewellery - cut gems (any carat), vials (cassadir, diodur), flasks (cassadir), jars (cassadir)

Sewing - fabrics (waxed cotton, huberian, silk, mohair), bedding (waxed cotton, mohair), cable (hemp), clothes (waxed cotton, huberian)

Tanning - leather (soft, reptile, varguard), whips (reptile, ayrann)

Science

Alchemy - tannin (salt, chrome), resin (ochrina, brodirar), Fortified leather

Engineering - rails (cedar/copper, neurt/steel), hand mill/ watermill (cedar, slate, soft leather, copper), tools (too many combinations to list!)

Finally dungeon farming:

Old cabin

Buy cheap armour from the vendor in hawkoria or from the market, buy lots of cheap healing ampoules and bring yaren, plus 3x guard/bear. Bounce between the first two squares fighting troggs and collecting loot. Allow all the damage to go onto your hero and attack only with your companions. Heal up your hero using the ampoules when needed, if you get into trouble defend your hero with one of your companions.

Upgrade your armour with drops to reduce the damage received, once your armour is upgraded and your companion attack skills level up you will begin to make decent money farming Old Cabin. Doing this will also make the Landel island quests and unlocking Lanfar much easier.

After your run head to City of Hawkoria merchant district. Sell all the random clothes, armour, weapons etc to the vendor for a nice amount of gold. Keep any materials for use in leveling your professions or sell them on the market.

Sorry for the huge wall of text, but I hope this helps some people to make money and enjoy the game.
