Server merge and other suggestions...

Hello, I am new player and love how this game looks.
And I have some suggestions.
Aafter talking with a friend that played this game longer then me (his words is that nothing is much changed for long time this are what we both come up with:
more living world (animations: clouds, day/night cycle, birds, winds)
merge all servers into one if server can handle that,
If you want to solve problem with language then make all chat channels: Russian, French, English, German, Turkish...
Its better to see 1000 +/- 500 players online and healthy market then 100 and empty.
This will push away a lot of players from steam.

Except the animation subject, sounds like a very good idea.

Hey, that's me!

Animations would be nice to have, it ramps up what we call "production value". It increases player acquisition, but cost a lot and could be problematic in the current game technology for some computers, so we prefer to focus on things of more impact on current players.

Regarding the merge, right now our engine cannot handle multi-language on one server, that would be quite a challenge to change that. And you have the problem of player name, most heroes would now have a suffix like Falkarma_Of_Wojtek, or something like that :-). And the merge itself, quite a challenge too.

Not sure you wish us to do a six months (six is random, we have no analysis of that) of technological changes to get everyone merged instead of working on the game content.

Full merge is certainly a challenge and it had not been done yet afaik, tries turn out too expensive.

But how about merging the market only? Prices would level out between the servers, and we could actually both buy and sell stuff.

A new trade-dedicated server would likely be needed, which would match anonymous buy requests with best offers from all game servers in some fair order. A great opportunity to add support for:

- buying only 20 out of offered 100
- buying 20 out of offered 10 and 15

For such example, the rs grand exchange works well.

What this would do in short order would be to destroy prices of younger servers

The reason it works in Runescape is that you can move your character to any server anyway. Here, characters (and importantly their skills and items) are bound to the world they are created in.

I think a market that works across servers would be the perfect solution and still lets people keep their names.
